REFLECTIONS  2008

                                      THE WISDOM OF INNOCENCE

After eighteen years of teaching the ‘Fool at Heart’ in different ways, what can I say? Whether the Fool at Heart is alone or with twenty companions, the simplicity of what is shared, has a mysterious way to bring down barriers, and to unexpectedly reach the heart of its audience. The language communicated belongs more to silence than to speech, to stillness than to movement, to feeling than to thinking, to innocent humour rather than to clever comedy.
In Presence, the ‘Fool at Heart’ seems to speak directly to the ‘being’, to the unformulated narratives,  ‘to what is about to become’, and so creates a space that holds and contains, like a bubble of consciousness. From this, emerges a trust and a sense of coming home. In the same way, as I experience the contagious wonder of a young child entering the living room, where many who are present will lift up their head and smile, having forgotten for a moment their own predicament. What is this power that can transform and liberate us? I think that it is the Wisdom of Innocence, that extraordinary gift of the child and of the inner-child of the adult. Sadly, this gift has been misunderstood and undervalued in our present culture. I suggest another way. Let’s turn it upside down and put the feet first, learning to walk again, without preconceived ideas, trusting in the (freedom of) not knowing, in the Wisdom of Innocence.

Nurturing Heart & Soul”

in meditation, mime-clowning, singing, dance & stillness.

No public performance this year.

This course will focus on strengthening your spiritual ground into "Being" and on developing the artistic skills of the Sacred Clown. We will aim at nourishing a playful Trust in the “Unknown”, in the mystery which lies at the centre of the creative process of the “Fool at Heart”.

Here are the details to book your flight to Tenerife South Canary Islands:

ABOUT  The Casa Saraswati Tenerife  Spain

The Casa Saraswati is the newly opened *Fool at Heart* International Retreat Centre. A blessed land for Healing & the Arts, spaciously spread on 7 terraces , 800m above the sea. Here the boundless love of the Great Mother overflows as you breath, as you leisure among fruit trees, flowers and groves. And so, you merge with the vast expanse of sea and sky, here below, and become as still as Pic El Teide our Southern guardian.
An oasis of peace, it is situated in the luscious rural area of the North West, away from all the touristic developments of Tenerife.  It has a wonderful sub-tropical climate the whole year around which alows the growth of exotic fruits & flowers, avocado trees...etc.
This climate has proved to be beneficial to various health conditions.

It is a very warm location and it is still summer in November.  Bring along light clothing and don’t forget your clowning swimming suites to enjoy the wonderful swimming pool.  A jumper might be useful in the eventuality of cool breeze passing by in the evening.
